Palm Beach Resort
Laiya, Batangas
Philippines
February 2009
Palm beach resort is located on the shore line of Laiya, Batangas. The difficulty in reaching the area (small roads and turns after the expressway) was definitely worth the effort. Although the beach in Laiya is not fine sand (like Boracay's), the serene and beautiful resorts more than make up for the lack of sand quality.
These resorts charge day trip and overnight charges per head including meals and merienda (snacks). The prices are within budget and reasonable, and the convenience of not having to prepare food or decide where to eat is very much welcome especially for people on vacation who just want to relax.
Palm beach resort was one of the newer resorts (back in feb 2009). The wooden feel of the rooms and the huts are excellent for squandering afternoons away relaxing. I grouped my basketball friends and high school friends to make a bigger group for the trip. We spent an hour or two playing frisbee and taking snapshots of ourselves.

Come 5:30pm or so, we started preparing for our sunset shots. The sun sets on the right side facing the beach in Laiya (behind some mountains) making a different sunset shot than the sunset shots in Manila bay and Boracay (where the sun sets in the water). the rocky beach makes an excellent texture for the photo as well.
sunrise would have been nice with the low tide and the rocks on the beach; but the alcohol, music, stories and laughter the previous night wouldn't let us wake up early the next day.

Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Laiya is it's difficult to go there as there are no big highways and very few actual road signs. you need to follow a precise direction. please check this link, it has directions but from manila, you can work probably from Lipa. http://www.waypoints.ph/detail_gen.html?wpt=laiya
